Well, the time is here...the lasts are in full force. They have been going on for many months now, but they are seriously stacking up now. The last Girls Night Out with my MYC group was tonight at a paint your own pottery place. A great time getting to chat with friends without having part of my attention on little ones and unleashing my creative just for me and just for fun side. Next week is the last MYC I'll be able to be a regular attendee (though I plan on crashing the party anytime we are in town). Megan graduates and finishes preschool next week, too. Followed by the real lasts of us moving out of Mom & Dad's, Maddie finishing school, our celebration dinner and then the final move to La La Land. We are looking forward to all being under the same roof again and recovering from the seperation and moving stresses of the last several months.
I'm excited about and terrified of the firsts over there. The first friends the girls and I make, the first groups we get involved in, the first outing that we have without Matt there, and getting used to the new normal. Thank goodness the kids are happy well-adjusted non-fearing kids who will force their introverted mother to be an extrovert for a while to help get everyone plugged in and adjusted. An exciting adventure to be on for sure and for the most part it has been enjoyable except for the sad stuff of leaving family & friends here. We go knowing we will be back to visit frequently and while it will never be the same as living here, it does make it hurt a lot less.
