And they're off.....

Day two is complete and all are still happy in the Boutte clan.  Yesterday, our first day of school for this school year, went so well, I hesitated to update the blog for fear of jinxing our calm, happy, productive day.  Today was no different so am hoping I don't jinx it with this post!  Not only are we getting our school work done, but we are also getting the chores done as well as knocking things off the to do list. Pretty amazing and exciting!!!!

Having one year under our belts certainly has made a huge difference in my level of calmness during teaching!  The girls are really enjoying their curriculum and I am enjoying my one-on-one time with them.  Maddie's Bible curriculum is the only one that doesn't flow well.  We'll give it another week or so and perhaps change it up.  There are so many options out there for a much better delivery and not to feel so forced - life is too short to stick with bad-fitting curriculum.  So far, AJ simply plays happily at our feet or occassionally sits on the couch with us happy to be "doing school", too.  So far, I haven't needed his "School Box", but it is ready to go when that is needed.

While we are enjoying getting underway, we are still excited about the extra-curricular things available for us this year.  Maddie is old enough for 4-H so will be participating in that and we are attempting to start a DI team for F.A.I.T.H. Fellowship so we will see how that goes.  Other than that, we are going to enjoy selecting the things available to us that look interesting and carry on.  As we are all continuing to learn, we can do anything, but we can't do everything.
