Hmmmm.... Needless to say, I haven't been good at keeping the blog up to date. There has been a ton going on a Boutte Academy over the past 17 months or so. Loads of field trips, fun adventures, and lots of living! Our 2012-2013 school year finished up mostly as planned. A little science and history hung on through the summer, but we wrapped those up. We moved on to our 2013-2014 school year after a brief summer break which included a cultural immersion camp at Vermilionville and VBS at Ascension.
This school year started off nice and according to schedule and plan, but that did not last long. We soon learned after the school year started that we may be moving to San Antonio for Matt's job change moving from Iberia Bank to USAA. As that became more likely and then certain, our schedule kind of went into survival mode and we just do our best to get the basics done as we can. We've mostly kept up with the core subjects, but it has been a struggle. We'll catch up with the "more than basics" after the move as we expect to have extra down time as we get plugged in. Right now, we are wrapping up our fall semester commitments like Co-Op and 4-H and awaiting the sale of our home. Matt will start at USAA (and thus move to San Antonio) right after Thanksgiving and we'll do our first house hunting trip then as well. Once our home in Lafayette sells, the kids and I will follow Matt and move to San Antonio (or more accurately Fair Oaks Ranch, TX is our hope). The goodbyes have started which is really hard, but since we aren't actually moving quite yet, it does make it a bit easier for now.
That is it for now, but hopefully I can update more again later. We have a wonderfully calm week compared to what we have been dealing with, though we still do have events each day. Kind of funny that events each day is considered a calm week at Boutte Academy!!!
