Well, tomorrow we make a trip to the post office to mail all of the paperwork for our first 6-week grading period that we finished last week. What a fun adventure it has been! The girls are learning so much and in much more depth than I am used to seeing. They are having a good time in the process, too! Megan's recent big accomplishment was to write a word in cursive other than her name and it was great! Maddie's was to disagree with the forecaster who said no rain several hours before we got a good soaking based on the movement and shape of clouds. She then proceeded to explain to a fascinated Megan all about the evaporation/precipitation cycle. Andrew's big accomplishment was turning 1 last Wednesday. We turned his car seat around and now he giggles with pure joy everytime I turn around and look at him. He's so happy to be able to see where he is going!!!!
The girls are both enjoying their ice skating lessons. Megan seems really enamored by it and Maddie just thinks it is fun. They've both been squeezing in extra practice time on their roller skates/blades so I think it is a hit. Certainly can't beat the price!!! We are, unfortunately, missing the next lesson, but I think the trip to Houston for some family & friend time there will be worth that. Maddie is loving riding and really progressing well and quickly. Megan thinks it is neat, but it doesn't seem to be her passion. Kind of the inverse of their opinions of ice skating. Megan has also developed and interest in golf, so we'll start researching that and see where it leads us.
As programs have started up in both church and the homeschool group, we are really starting to make some friends both for the kids and for us. It was nice to have the down time with no obligations, but it is also so nice to be getting plugged in and involved, too. Well, hope all is well with all of you. 'Til next time!
