Day 25 is tomorrow!!!

Well, we are continuing to roll on down the road and enjoying it! After tomorrow, we will have completed 5 weeks of homeschooling and still think it is a good choice for our family. The girls are continuing to thrive, though still miss their friends and are really wanting to meet more kids here. The Church programs (family Sunday school and children's church) starts this Sunday after a newcomers breakfast and we continue to do as much as we can with the homeschool group that we are now a part of including game night next Monday and math games next Wednesday. The girls both start an 8-week ice skating class on Friday. Maddie's comment was that she really liked spending so much time with just the family, but she wanted to see more faces and I think with our upcoming calendar she will be getting her wish.

Last weekend we went to Vermilionville with Dave and enjoyed learning about the Acadian and Cajun culture including fabulous restore buildings, a fiddle player, a woman making rosaries, and a man making a hoop net. We also learned about the watershed, plant life, and other environmental facts about Louisiana. It was a really neat day and we are looking forward to going back when it cools off more.

This weekend is another lesson in carpentry and organization as we get more done on the garage (weather permitting). Hopefully, more progress can be made and the kids can enjoy some unstructured play time outside as the humidity is supposed to be lower than it is now. The temps aren't too bad, but it is very humid. Hopefully, we can get some bike rides & runs in, too!
