And the winner is.....

Madelyn Boutte won the 3rd/4th grade level Spelling Bee for FAITH Fellowship.  She moves on to the regional level next month.  She is very excited and proud of her accomplishment, but is also already nervous about the next step.  Even though she was nervous, she was poised and calm and performed her best.  We are so proud of her!

The girls are now enrolled in a drama and voice class for 10 weeks.  Since they don't get much public speaking/presentation practice, we thought this would be great to help their speech and comfort in front of people.  Plus, it is something that they both have an interest in.  Another plus is that the class sizes are small and narrowed to their age ranges, so there is a possibility of meeting some new friends, too.  Very excited to see what this adventure holds.

Right about the time ice skating classes are over, we will be embarking on a 5 week tennis session.  Again, a chance to try something new, meet new friends, it is inexpensive and nearby, and something I can see us doing for fun down the road.  Time will tell how it turns out.

We are also starting the process of selecting our curriculum and planning the summer and next school year.  We are very excited and overwhelmed at all that there is to choose from.  Who knows where we will land, but it is really cool checking out the possibilities....a little bit at a time.  There is a convention that will have many of the publishers in Baton Rouge in April, so we are planning on going and checking it out.  Should be fun, but exhausting.  A Beka is working really well, but I just have a nagging feeling that we are missing out on some things, so want to investigate other options.  The girls are so easy-going and "school-minded" that even though it works fine for them, I don't think its ideal and we won't know until we investigate.

That is about all that is new here.  Just trying to get/stay healthy after a round of illnesses followed by another.  Milder temperatures are drawing us outside more so hopefully we have already gotten our illnesses out of the way for the next little while so we can enjoy being outside again.  Until next time....
