A Scenic Start

We've had a scenic & leisurely start to our 2nd half of the school year.  None of us are feeling 100% thanks to various combinations of post-holiday blahs, strep throat, allergies, and colds, so we are doing as much as we feel up to for the day and calling that good.  A nice relaxed way to be and we are getting much more done in a happier atmosphere.  We are adding our creative writing and reading times to our curriculum which were two holes that I was seeing in the A Beka curriculum.  This allows for lots of fun and snuggles which were kind of lacking in the last two months.

This week saw the start of riding lessons after our week off last week as well as the start of ice skating lessons tomorrow.  Both girls are doing very well at the barn showing improvements each week.  We also are planning our event for FAITH Fellowship, Maddie's birthday party, and what we want to do for our field trip next week.  We also will be looking at our want-to-do field trip list and our calendar and see how we can get things planned.  There is so much to do and its kind of overwhelming.

I've been doing lots of organization planning as household CEO, too which isn't very glamourous, but needs to be done.  I'm still amazed at how it can feel like we are getting nothing done and then we look back and realize we got so much accompliched both scholastically as well as every other way.  Pretty cool!
